Comparison of Four Resonant Topologies Based on Unified Design Procedure for Capacitive Power Transfer

This study analyzes and evaluates four transmission characteristics of the capacitive power transfer (CPT) with resonance coupling. A constant voltage source is used under all conditions. The target compensation topologies for investigation are series-series (SS), series-parallel (SP), parallel-series (PS) parallel-parallel (PP) topologies. analysis results unified conditions describe five characteristics: (a) equivalent maximum efficiency in topologies, (b) squared lower output coupling coefficient PS PP compared those SS SP (c) optimal loads (d) unit factor (CUPF) from (e) current (CC) (CV) at load variation around load. From these evaluations, both which superior terms power, recommended when using source. Finally, powering experiment shows effectiveness evaluations.
